COMMUNICATING
Any and all communication (with anyone) should be clear and concise.
Email
You should check your school email daily, as this is how both the school and your teachers will normally communicate with you.
When emailing a teacher or counselor (or anyone):
- Be respectful;
- Address them by their name;
- Communicate in clear, complete sentences;
- End with a closing salutation.
CLASS
The classroom is the teacher’s space. Treat it respectfully by throwing trash in the appropriate receptacle and keeping your desk clean. Anything that comes into the classroom with you should leave with you or be put in the proper place.
Entering
When entering the classroom, greet your teacher and your classmates. (Seriously!) This is common courtesy, and leaves the teacher with a positive impression.
If there is a class in the room before yours, wait for those students to leave.

Leave promptly after the class in case there is another class coming in.

There are many resources available online that deal with whatever subject you need help with. Her, though, you must be careful about the websites you use - make certain they are accurate - and you must still do your own work.
SELF-ADVOCACY
Self-advocacy simply means standing up for yourself. While there are many people herfe to help you - teachers, counselors, administrators, staff - ultimately you must take responsibility for yourself, and that means advocating for yourself.
